Download Google Tag Manager for WordPress
GTM4WP (Google Tag Manager for WordPress) is a free, open source plugin with more than 700,000 active installations on wordpress.org. You can install it from the WordPress admin, from the ZIP file or with WP-CLI. Download it only from wordpress.org or from this page.
Latest stable version
The stable version is the one for live sites. Keep it up to date together with WordPress and your other plugins, because GTM4WP is tested with the current WordPress and WooCommerce releases.
Install it in one of these ways:
- In the WordPress admin, open Plugins, click Add New Plugin, search for GTM4WP, then click Install Now and Activate.
- Download the ZIP file with the button below, then upload it in the WordPress admin under Plugins, Add New Plugin, Upload Plugin.
- With WP-CLI:
wp plugin install duracelltomi-google-tag-manager --activate
Minimum requirements:
- WordPress 6.3 or newer
- PHP 8.0 or newer
- WooCommerce 5.0 or newer, if you use the WooCommerce integration
- Easy Digital Downloads 3.0 or newer, if you use the Easy Digital Downloads integration
When WordPress raises its own minimum requirements, GTM4WP usually follows.
GTM4WP needs no account of its own, but you need a Google Tag Manager account and a container. After activating the plugin, open Settings, then Google Tag Manager, and add your container ID. The setup guide lists the first steps. The changelog shows what changed in each version.
Beta version on GitHub
Beta versions and release candidates of the next release are published on GitHub, so that developers and testers can try new features before the release. There are no nightly builds, but you can always download the current state of the repository.
Use beta versions on development and test sites only. Do not run them on a live site unless you understand the risks. Please report any problem you find as an issue on GitHub.
